Your breaking through interview with RA is fantastic. Do you feel you’ve changed since then?

I feel the same but i guess I’ve been evolving quite a lot musically. The more you’re putting effort into a craft the more accurate you become I reckon. Same goes with the DJ part of the job, I had the chance to play a lot of gigs since then. That allowed me to figure out how I like to DJ.

You mention in it that you’re staying away from Berghain “I’m really trying—at the same time to be part of the thing—to stay away from it because I don’t want to lose my lucidity, my vision.” How do you stay focussed?

I guess producing a lot of music is how I stay focussed. I also launched my label “Body Theory” and had to think deeply about the prominent vibe and “style” that I want for it. That helped me to produce things that are more coherent and telling a story through the releases.

Which up-and-coming artists and labels are you excited about right now?

I really enjoyed the release from Vofa on the new sublabel from Modal Analysis called “Pi Electronics”. Vofa is actually a collaboration between Sawf and ANFS so not really up and coming but his industrial productions are really refreshing.

Looking forward to see what’s coming next on this label, that’s my vibe!

Pray tell, what have you learned? And why do you luv Cardiff?

I’ve learned how to make techno 🙂 I’ve actually never been to Cardiff but a friend from there was visiting at the time when I made the track . He was always calling his (female) friends “Luv”.

Is there anything you want to tell us that you’ve never said in an interview before?

I have a secret weapon: an Aztec death whistle that makes your tracks bang!

If we go through the keyhole to your studio, what would you want to show us?

  • DAW – Not much going on here – but I guess Ableton is the one for me.
  • Polyphonic synth – Korg Mono/Poly
  • Monophonic synth – SCI Pro-one
  • Drum Machine – MPC 60
  • Studio monitors – Neumann KH120
  • Outboard effects unit (delay / reverb…) – Ibanez AD 202 / Alesis Midiverb 1

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would you choose? And if you could b2b with any artist?

I would go for someone with a strong voice that can shout, like Douglas McCarthy or Philip Best (or Ansome after a few whiskys 😉 )

A b2b with Surgeon would be certainly the best experience ever.

We can’t wait to have you play for is in Manchester. What can we expect from you on the night?

You can expect a spicy mix of all my influences!
